  • Are your Needhams gluten-free?
Yes! Needhams are a naturally gluten free food.
  • Are your Needhams vegan or dairy-free?
No. There is milk in the chocolate that covers our Needhams.
  • Are your Needhams nut-free?
While we do not process nuts in our facility, coconut, which is one of our primary ingredients, is technically considered a tree-nut.
  • Do you have a brick-and-mortar storefront?
Because we primarily work with wholesale distributors, we do not currently have our own storefront. As our business grows, we hope to expand into a facility that will allow us to have a retail space. For those in the Saco, Maine, vicinity, we do offer local pick-up for on-line orders.
  • How does local pick-up work?
If you select local pick-up for your on-line order, we will contact you by phone, typically within one to two business days, to let you know your order is ready. During that call, we will schedule a time for you to stop by to pick up your order and give you directions to our location.
  • Where can I find Maine Needhams locally?
All of the Reny's Department Store locations state-wide and a good number of the Hannaford Supermarkets in Southern Maine carry our Needhams. There are also a large number of smaller grocery stores, specialty markets and gift shops throughout Maine where you can find them. Check out the list of some known locations on our Reviews & Distributors page. This list is changing regularly as we add more locations, so be sure to check back from time to time. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a complete list of locations because we work primarily with wholesale distributors and don't always know where their accounts are. Please note that not all locations carry all of our flavors. If you're having trouble finding exactly what you want, our on-line shop is the best place for our complete selection.
  • Do you use white or milk chocolate, or only dark chocolate?"
At this time, we only offer dark chocolate options.
  • What is the shelf life of your Needhams?
At room temperature, the Original Needhams will last for about four months and the flavored varieties will last for about two months. For best results, we recommend refrigerating or freezing your Needhams. Doing so will keep them fresh for many months.
  • Can Needhams be refrigerated or frozen?
Yes! In fact, unless you're using your Needhams immediately, we recommend keeping them in the refrigerator or freezer. Doing so keeps them tasting fresh-made for many months.
  • I have a special event coming up and would like to use Needhams as a table favor. Are you able to accommodate this type of request?
Yes, we can handle large orders! We love being part of our customers' special events, and our Needhams make wonderful party favors because they are individually wrapped. To get pricing and additional information, please contact us at
  • How long will it take to receive my order?
Depending on where you are within the continental United States, you should receive your order within three to five business days. We send orders out within one to two business days and ship via USPS Priority Mail, which is normally an additional one to three business days.
  • Do you ship in warm weather?
Yes! While we can't guarantee the condition of your Needhams upon arrival, we do take extra care when shipping to warm locations by wrapping your order with insultated foil-lined bubble sheets and adding ice packs. Whenever possible, we recommend someone being available to receive your Needham order as soon as it arrives so it won't be sitting in warm conditions for any longer than necessary.
  • Which flavor is your favorite?
Our favorites? That depends on which one of us you ask. Gerard's favorite is the Peppermint Stick - I think he's got one stashed away from Christmas for himself! I, Malaika, love the Maine Maple. Of course, maple anything is pretty much a winner in my book!
  • Do you have a question that isn't addressed here?
